Typewriter Series #2497 by Tyler Knott Gregson
Text for Tired Eyes:
I told myself there was light within,
bursting around my organs,
saturating blood in glow.
I swallowed a sun, or moon
at the least, I said when things felt
dark, it’s there, it’s there.Gave pieces of myself away
to let it shine out, dozens spread
to dozens needing, called them
constellations when I imagined
all those beams landing
in all that night.Never saw that light,
but believed it all the same,
just felt better thinking that after
all I gave away,
some warmth remained.-Tyler Knott Gregson-
